How to Win Friends in the Twitterverse
In the mean time, follow @whatwomenwant and @pauleannar and we will mos def follow you back! ox
DIVERSIFY YOUR PORTFOLIO
Imagine your digital presence as that mythical “perfect dinner party” that is always going on at Barbara Walters’s apartment. To paraphrase Babs: Fill a table with like-minded, similarly employed people, and you’ll probably be bored before the soup is cleared, but throw a banker beside a gossip blogger beside a beat poet, and you’ll need a hose to put out the conversational sparks. Translated to the digital sphere this means be sure to follow and friend all sorts of people – local and international, Nobel Peace Prize winners and your funny friend from the gym. “The people you follow are a reflection of who you are,” says Michael Crom, executive vice-president of Dale Carnegie, which recently released an updated version of its classic self-help tome, called How to Win Friends and Influence People in the Digital Age. “Following a wide variety [of people] shows that you are a multi-dimensional person with many interests.”
TWEET AS YOU WANT TO BE TWEETED
Social media has taken navel-gazing to new highs (or rather lows), with many Tweeters and Facebookers offering up personal minutia as if they were details from Plato’s Republic: “Can’t wait for the weekend” or “I love being a mom” are examples of the drivel that passes for broadcast-worthy information. “The line between sharing stories from your personal life and self-indulgence is a hazy one,” says Toronto-based media personality and frequent Tweeter George Stroumboulopoulos (a.k.a. @strombo). There is a critical difference between “Stuffed after delicious Thanksgiving dinner” and “Just picked up half-price organic turkey at @VanMarkets.” Neither will have the Pulitzer committee calling, but the latter is relaying information that might actually be useful.
TAKE IN INTEREST IN OTHERS
An age-old golden rule updated for the digital age: To make a friend, you need to be a friend first. “If you expect people to take an interest in what you have to say, it’s a good idea to do the same,” Mr. Crom advises. In other words, be a social-networking butterfly – read other people’s Tweets, Facebook updates and blog posts and comment on them in a way that shows you are engaged. The channels of communication run both ways, and unless the object of your online affection is @justinbieber (who might be busy with his 13 million other followers) chances are your interest will be reciprocated. When e-expressing yourself, it’s also a good idea to include as many Twitter handles as possible. Maybe Margaret Atwood is your great white whale. Scoring her as a follower is probably a long-term project, but Tweeting along the lines of: “My favourite line in @margaretatwood’s latest: [insert line here]” will put you on the radar of other Atwood fans, and could earn you a bunch of new followers.
SILENCE YOUR ONLINE EEYORE
Avoid the inclination to complain on Twitter because 1) unless you’re @denisleary or @OscarTheGrouch, people aren’t that interested in your gripes, and 2) it likely says more about you than it does about whoever you’re whining about. “Complaining about your partner is incredibly boring for other people,” says Mr. Stroumboulopoulos. “If we know who ‘someone’ is, we’re embarrassed for them, and if not, we’re embarrassed for you.” On Twitter, as in life, people are attracted to others who seem positive and upbeat. “We talk about a smile online, which is a good way to think of it,” says Mr. Crom

Kim Kardashian to Star in Tyler Perry Movie 'The Marriage Counselor'
Kim Kardashian has been cast in Tyler Perry's upcoming film, "The Marriage Counselor," Deadline.com reports
The flick, which starts filming next week in Atlanta, is adapted from Perry's play by the same name and depicts a newlywed marriage counselor, Judith (played by actress Jurnee Smollett), who's great at her job but struggles in her own marriage
The 30-year-old "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star will play the role of Ava, Judith's co-worker, who helps her friend gain new confidence with a big city makeover among other things.
Although this isn't Kardashian's first big-screen gig, (she was also in "Disaster Movie" and "Deep in the Valley"), "The Marriage Counselor" is probably the most fitting, since she's a newlywed herself.

P.S. Do you think that Kim will excel on the big screen or should she stick to reality television?

Is Marriage For White People?

As controversial as his views may be, I do agree with Professor Banks to some extent. Growing up I was taught to see people not colour. Some may feel that they’re abandoning their culture by dating outside their race. However, I don’t think it’s fair that anyone should limit themselves to who they should be involved with simply based on ethnicity. As women, we need to stop trying to put a face on prince charming. Instead, we should embrace love- no matter what colour in comes in.

What do you think of Professor Banks' views?
3 Step Smokey Eyes

STEP 1: Sweep a charcoal coloured eye shadow along your outer lash line and in the crease of the lid. Soften the edges with your fingertip.
STEP 2: Line your lids using a black pencil. A thicker line adds intensity. Line the bottom as well.
STEP 3: Soften the bottom line using your finger tip. Blend the liner using a little more charcoal shadow along the outer edges of the eye (top and bottom). Finish with your favourite mascara on both top and bottom lashes.
**When doing such intense eye makeup, use neutral colours on your cheeks and lips to create balance.

BOOKS: WWW Recommends "Something Blue" By: Emily Giffin
HAPPY READING!
OVERVIEW: Giffin's sophomore effort-which tells the story that her bestselling 'Something Borrowed' did from a different character's point of view-stars such an unsympathetic narrator that it's a little like reading a Cinderella story featuring one of the wicked stepsisters. Perhaps beautiful Darcy Rhone isn't really wicked, but she is one of the most shallow, materialistic, self-centered and naïve 29-year-olds around. Ostensibly a high-powered PR person in Manhattan (though she never seems to work), Darcy spends most of her time shopping, partying and getting ready for her wedding to perfect guy Dex. But an alcohol-fueled Hamptons fling with one of Dex's pals, Marcus, starts to break Darcy's perfect life down; and discovering Dex hiding in her best friend Rachel's closet really shatters it. Pregnant with Marcus's baby, Darcy decamps for London, where she crashes in high school pal Ethan's flat and annoys the heck out of him with her endless shopping and complete disregard for her impending motherhood. But after a good lecture from Ethan, whom Darcy has started to fall for a little, Darcy embarks on a self-improvement plan, thereby demonstrating she can think about someone besides herself. And if readers don't mind the first 200 pages in which she doesn't, they'll enjoy her happy ending and the few surprises along the way. Fans of Something Borrowed, too, may relish the "she said, she said" fun.

10 Tips To Get Over Your Ex
Yes I know this seems harsh, but right now “less is more.” Erase his phone number (and bbm pin) from your cell phone. If he texts you do not respond, even if he tells you he misses you. Erase old text messages. Storing them in your inbox will only tempt you to re-read and re-analyze each one.
2. Clean house.
Put away any mementos that you have of your ex. You don’t need to be reminded of him every time you look at your dresser or your wall. If you are inclined to look at pictures of him every time you go on your computer, consider moving those pictures to an external hard drive where they will be difficult to access.
3. Avoid contact.
What’s the point of meeting for coffee or dinner? The relationship is over. If he needs to drop off your stuff, have him deliver it to a mutual friend’s house and vice versa. If your ex and you have the same circle of friends, it may be hard to avoid each other. Perhaps now is the time to re-visit old friendships or make new ones.
4. Get out of the house.
The more time you spend at home the more inclined you may be to engage in stalker-like tendencies while visiting social networking sites.
5. Celebrate your newly acquired single status.
Go on a girl’s trip and re-discover why singlehood is so fun!
6. Do Make-over, don’t make-under.
Leave the house looking fresh. Get in shape. Now is the time to start that new fitness class you keep wanting to try.
7. Flirt. Because you’re allowed.
Pull out your favorite little black dress and go on a date.
8. Stick to your guns.
Remember why your relationship didn’t work. If you must, write a list of why he wasn’t good for you. Stick it on your mirror.
9. Re-discover you.
You now have more time to re-evaluate your goals and achieve them.
10. Learn from your mistake.
Use your past relationship as a learning experience and let it help you realize what you want in your next relationship.
Hope this helps!

Beauty Post: Can Make Up Make You Appear More Competent
..and for some of us, wearing red lipstick is an everyday must have, but according a study funded by Procter and Gamble, I read a news piece in the Huffington Post about how makeup can can effect your career and the way people perceive you. The study examined the relationship between the amount of makeup a woman wears and her perceived attractiveness, competence, likability, and trustworthiness in the eyes of others.
"The results showed that makeup can greatly enhance a first impression no matter how much you put on, boosting women's ratings in attractiveness, likability, competence, and trustworthiness across the board, but that a little eyeshadow can mean the difference between being admired and not being trusted."
The New York Times suggests that woman can use makeup to control in the office.
"Sarah Vickery, a co-author of the study, recommended a deeper lip color for “times when you want to give a powerful 'I'm in charge here' kind of impression," and softer tones for "collaborative appeal" when you need to work in a group setting."
"Ann Kearney-Cooke, director of the Cincinnati Psychotherapy Institute, emphasized that while the study shows how other people view you, it shouldn't impact how you view yourself: "Your warmth, confidence and energy attract others to you. There's nothing more attractive than a confident woman with a voice of her own."
Pauleanna says: Ann said it beautifully. Confidence is the most attractive thing. At the end of the day BE YOURSELF. Do what you feel is comfortable and if you put your best foot forward in all areas of your life, you will see amazing things happen!

Beyonce Talks Married Life in Harpers Bazaar
On revealing her pregnancy at the VMAs
"I put a lot of thought into how I wanted to unveil it. It was important to me that I was able to do it myself. I was extremely nervous. It was the toughest red carpet I ever did. I didn’t want a crazy picture or gossip story to break the news, so I decided to say nothing and proudly show my baby bump. I felt it was more powerful to see the love and enthusiasm as opposed to saying anything."
On her marriage with husband Jay-Z
"We have been together since I was 20 years old. We took our time and developed an unbreakable friendship before we got married. I admire his ability to inspire others. To me, Jay represents the American dream. Jay’s music has helped define our generation. All that he has overcome and worked to achieve gives millions hope that they can become whatever they want to be. I respect him so much; he is a great man and a great artist.
We focused three years on our marriage and found that it brought us an even stronger bond and connection. But like anything great and successful in your life, marriage takes hard work and sacrifice. It has to be something both you and your husband deeply want. The best thing about marriage is the amount of growth you have because you can no longer hide from your fears and insecurities. There’s someone right there calling you out on your flaws and building you up when you need the support. If you are with the right person, it brings out the best version of you."
On if her pregnancy has influenced a maternity collection
"All I see now are clothes that are flattering on a pregnant woman. It’s been so exciting for me! I love figuring out designs that still make me feel edgy and sexy while pregnant. Flowy fabrics are always flattering says, but I still rock my stilettos. I’ve had so much fun with fashion over the months. I have been pregnant through every event I’ve done, from the Billboard Awards to Glastonbury."
On where she is right now in life
"I am finally at the stage in my life where I am not so concerned with other people’s opinions about my life decisions. It is so liberating to really know what I want, what truly makes me happy, what I will not tolerate. I have learned that it is no one else’s job to take care of me but me."
Rihanna Talks Chris Brown, Lap Dances & Why She Has To Have Liquor In Esquire Magazine
Pauleanna says: Rihanna is on the cover of Esquire Magazine and looking amazing in her spread. She was recently named the sexiest woman alive and definitely shows us why.... Inside she reveals new thoughts about Chris Brown, Being the most famous person to come out of her country and more.. Here's a snippet of the interview below. This issue is out on newsstands today! ox
On Being ‘Hated’ by Her Home Country Early On in Her Career
"I grew to realize that that hate was just pride. I realized that it’s a part of our culture. I’m always representing Barbados. All over the world, no matter what I was doing, no matter what I achieved, no matter what award it was, I always shouted them out. So, I started making them feel like, “This is our girl. If people in the UK could get this excited about her, what’s wrong with us?” And I never turned my back, too."
On Chris Brown
"It’s incredible to see how he pulled out of it the way he did. Even when the world seemed like it was against him, you know? I really like the music he’s putting out. I’m a fan of his stuff. I’ve always been a fan. Obviously, I had some resentment toward him for a while, for obvious reasons. But I’ve put that behind me. It was taking up too much of my time. It was too much anger. I’m really excited to see the breakthrough he’s had in his career. I would never wish anything horrible for him. Never. I never have."
On Pre-Show Rituals & Jitters
"I eat lozenges, steam my voice, do my makeup. I Skype my vocal coach and we sit there at the makeup table and do warm-ups for about a half-hour. Then, Jen, my personal assistant slash bartender, brings me a shot that she dilutes with a little something so it’s not so harsh, like orange juice or soda water and lime."
"I have to have it. I take it very seriously, so there is a level of anxiety, always. I overthink everything when it comes to my job. The drink calms my nerves. I sip it while I watch the opening act from my dressing room. Sometimes I go out into the audience. I put on a really big hoodie and sneak out there.”
“Where we at, where we at, where we at!” I need to hear the name of the place super loud just before I got out there so I don’t screw it up onstage. I say “House” and the lights go off. My head is down the entire time. I’m hearing the music and I know I only have like twelve seconds left to get into the cage, drink my water, finish the liquor, check my mic. Then I have like three seconds where I get to pray, again, for myself, and for the audience. I always pray for the crowd.”
On Picking an Audience Member for a Lapdance
The way I pick the person is, whoever I feel doesn’t take themselves too seriously, or who I think would be majorly embarrassed about it. Like these old men… it’s hilarious. At first, it was just going to be girls. And then one night, I brought up a gay guy, and then I started bringing up straight guys. Then I started bringing up older straight men. Did you see the one who was getting way too comfortable?

Wendy Williams Lists 5 Reasons Why Beyonce May Be Faking Her Pregnancy!
Seriously, is this for real? What do you think about this whole situation? Do you agree with Wendy? and are women and children fair game for gossip?
Let's speak on it in the comment section!
Here is what Wendy thinks...
1) The baby is helping Beyonce’s sagging recording career. It is sagging. I mean the statistics show, but you forget all about that because you’re so focused on, ‘Oh, Beyonce’s pregnant!’
2) Beyonce’s pregnancy is a way of keeping Jay-Z’s alleged mistress away. This is what I love about this show. You can’t see everything that I can see, but people are snapping their necks in nod-ation. How ’bout this one…
3) The alleged woman over in alledgely Trinidad with the alleged 10-year-old alleged son allegedly by Jay-Z, Beyonce’s trying to keep up with her. Allegedly. And how ’bout this…
4) This is the most disgusting one. Beyonce’s going to use a surrogate so she can maintain her body. I don’t believe that one.
5) Well, here’s one that’s even more disgusting than that. They’re adopting, but they’re going to play it off like they gave birth.
"You remember I was the first one to say this: it’s going to be an at home, water birth in the master bathroom, there are gonna be three people there: Beyonce, Jay-Z, and their mother Miss Tina. Watch. There will be none of those nurses. There won’t any of those witnesses at the nurses station or anything like that. Beyonce, c’mon you’re not like that are you? *heavy sigh* You know how some of these celebrities can be though. Anything for attention. Anything for attention."
MUSIC VIDEO: Lay It On Me - Kelly Rowland
Pauleanna says: Damn. Things are most def working out in Kelly's favour this time around. She looks absolutely amazing in this video! Good for her, it's nice to see that she is creeping out of Bey's shadow! Loves it!

So what do you do?I am currently the Manager of Editorial Production for News & Business publications at Rogers Publishing, and part time fashion blogger! http://klickclash.wordpress.com/
Take us along the path (personal & professional) that took you where you are today.Oh man. First, I would not be where I am today without my strong foundation. I am so blessed to have the most supportive and wonderful family in the world that I absolutely love; I am the youngest of 2 amazing and talented brothers. My parents have been unconditional providers, supporters and #1 fans of my brothers and I. Outside of home as a young teen I was a tomboy and a little socially awkward, and not so much interested in school. I didn't know what I wanted to do or be, didn't really have any goals to aim for. I was unmotivated. I was lost and watched everyone around me work hard towards their aspirations, thinking that I wasn't intelligent enough to be on the same level as them. Entering College gave me a reality check and I began to understand, appreciate and benefit the importance of hard work. The results I received in College encouraged me to continue my education and I found myself registering for another degree at Ryerson with an entrance scholarship. Attending Ryerson motivated me even further, and provided me with a better sense of direction. I learned so much about myself during my university years, and eventually I worked hard to find the career and environment I've always wanted to be in. ? I've been working at Rogers Publishing ever since I graduated, and I have been in many roles within the company. A very bitter and sour end to a very long relationship allowed me to discover myself in a way I don't think I would have discovered if I were still in that relationship. I learned to focus on myself, how to be genuinely and honestly happy with myself, as an independent woman. That alone gave me even more gratitude in life, to know that I could hold my own, on my own! It truly is one of the greatest feelings that I appreciate the most.
Ironically, going through some major unfortunate events forced me to focus on my role at work. During my healing process, I threw myself into work so much that I didn't even realize that I was moving up the corporate ladder. I continued to learn about myself, and again - the importance of hard work. You never know where it will take you, and who will notice.
In addition to my healing process of losing my Father and long-term break-up (all happened around the same time), I started to join and sign up for things that I love and are passionate about, and that simply make me happy. I wanted surround myself with positivism and optimism. That's how I wanted to heal. I re-kindled my love for dance enrolled in an accredited Hawaiian dance school, and fell in love. After achieving two post secondary accomplishments in Technology, I started to miss my creativity. I craved something different from what I was doing at work (even though I loved my job). I discovered my love of fashion only recently, and I registered for school again as a part time student in the Fashion Styling and Coordination certificate program and dipped my hand into freelance wardrobe styling whenever I had spare time. I wanted to learn about the industry and how it worked and I absolutely loved it. Freelance styling isn't easy to juggle with a full time job, so I started my own fashion blog to keep my passion in full effect.
What's the toughest thing you've been faced with thus far?The unexpected passing of my Father. He was everything and more to me.
What did your parents want you to be?They simply wanted me to be successful and happy, and of course, the very best for me.
What's the best piece of advice you were ever given?Finish what you started - my brothers would tell me when I hated school so much.
Accept and move on- my best friend
Live like your Father- my Priest at my Father's funeral
Life can be only what you make it- Mary J. Blige...ok she didnt give this to me, but her quote helped!
Everything my mom and dad told me!
What advice do you have for women who want to follow in your footsteps?Never underestimate the power of hard work and learning
Never give up, always have confidence in yourself
Do what you love, and love what you do!
Always try to find the good/positive in everything, even at the worst of times
Life is so short, make the most of it!
Is it possible for a woman to successfully balance both love and career? Why or why not?Absolutely. Woman can have it all as long as they believe.
What's next for you? We'll see. I'm always ready for change or something new! I will always continue to learn as much as I can, expanding on my career experience and opportunities. Continuing to work on my fashion blog on a regular basis. Sometimes I'm curious about stepping into the fashion industry, to see where that would take me.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years... 10 years?I love how funny life is. I would have never predicted I would be where I am now, 5 years ago, let alone 10 years! Maybe married and traveling the world. I've toyed with the idea of relocating and discovering a new country/city temporarily. Who knows? As long as I'm happy!
And lastly, in your opinion, What do Women Want??They want it all, and they can have it all! Hell ya.
