The World's Most Expensive BARBIE
How she became the most expensive Barbie in the world? Mattel commissioned Australian jewellery designer, STEFANO CANTURI, to create the finger-wide neckpiece and tiny matching ring to promote the new Barbie collection.
The neckpiece is made from three carats of white diamonds set around a one carat, square emerald -cut pink diamond.
But Stefano Canturi didn't just bling out Barbie!
He also designed her black strapless party dress, peep-toe stilettos & styled her tumbling blonde hair.
And well worth it. She was auctioned at Christie's New York for $302,500

Will Better Education Get Women the Corner Office?
"Last year for the first time, women received more doctoral degrees than men" and I say its about time! I'm sure most of you will agree that women are climbing up the corporate ladder in lightning speed. I mean we are pushing boundaries and we are on a steadfast climb to getting that corner office - or aren't we?
In the article I read called Will Better Education Get Women the Corner Office? I discovered that although women are achieving more degrees than men- we aren't getting access to the C-suites! Having a piece of paper has not impacted our chances of moving into a fancy carpeted office where decisions are made.
"Reports have extrapolated out that at the current rate of change, getting equal genders into the C-suites will take about another 50 to 100 years," she says. The problem, she thinks, is what is recognized as business leadership: "It's all about hungry, ambitious, competitive, alpha behavior. Nobody has proved that these characteristics make effective leaders."
Studies also indicate that companies who have women in positions of power tend to perform better over a long period. Unfortunately, there are very few who encourage a woman to be in an executive position.
I say: It seems like a struggle that will take place for many years to come. I know a few women in positions of power- so I know it's not impossible, however in comparison to the giant pool of women who aren't, the stats are disappointing.
What are your thoughts? Are you content with staying in your current position in your workplace? or are you in a constant battle to be the girl on top?

LG Fashion Week - Lauren Bagliore - S/S 2011

Moving away from New York to Calgary is not a typical move for most, but for a designer launching her own fashion line, it was a step in the right direction. Lauren Bagliore has worked with Zac Posen and Vivienne Westwood and it shows in her design aesthetic and her attention to detail.

LG Fashion Week - Day 1 - My behind the scenes experience with @GetJanet & @JayStrut :)
As you know I've hit the ground running with LG Fahsion week festivities and it has been a blast! Here's some behind the scenes from Day 1!
