EVIAN By Issey Miyake

0 Women have something to say Links to this post

EVIAN has partnered with fashion designer ISSEY MIYAKE to unveil it's fourth annual limited edition designer bottle.

Miyake is following a celebrated line-up, who have designed for Evian since 2008, which include Christian Lacroix, Jean Paul Gaultier and Paul Smith.

The new bottle design is decorated with a shimmering flower; a symbol of youth and the Evian signature message, "Live Young".

The details of the flower are inspired by his innovative pleated clothes.

"The Issey Miyake bottle design, glowing with both optimism and freshness, is a perfect pairing with the brand."

There are 2 versions of the bottle, one of which will be exclusively available at Issey Miyake shops worldwide.

BlackBerry PlayBook VS. Apple iPad

0 Women have something to say Links to this post
BlackBerry VS. Apple
The 2 most popular "fruits" in the world!

BlackBerry has finally created a device to rival Apple's iPad.

Introducing the BlackBerry PlayBook.

The PlayBook is 9.7 millimetres thick and features a 7-inch touch screen, which is smaller than the iPad's 9.7-inch screen.

For the geeks, it can run both HTML 5 and Flash 10.1 (Huh?) and has a one gigahertz dual core processor with one gigabyte of RAM.

Now, enough of this yawn factory. Let's get to the fun stuff.

I love my iPad but it is extremely annoying to add photos to iTunes before viewing them at my fingertips.
I always secretly imagine how happy i will be when Apple finally adds the only feature that's missing to the iPad: a CAMERA!

No need to wait for the new iPad. I am ready to try something new.
The BlackBerry PlayBook features front AND rear facing cameras, to not only take photos but to support video conferencing!
:D

BlackBerry SmartPhone users can pair handsets with the PlayBook, using a Bluetooth connection to view email, calendar, documents, etc.

"The fact that PlayBook users can route data through BlackBerry smartphones instead of paying for separate telecom service should prove a selling point in the business and personal markets."

The BlackBerry PlayBook will be available in the U.S. in early 2011.

Girls Kissing Girls: Explaining the Trend

2 Women have something to say Links to this post
We've touched on this subject once before in a previous literary post about 'Down Low Sistas'- and I've chosen to do another post on similar subject matter because we had so many juicy responses in the past. It seems as if same sex curiosity is spreading like wild fire. I'm not saying everyone is in the boat of course, but it's a realistic issue that I like to place on the table!

In the article called Girls Kissing Girls: Explaining the Trend I read about how the openness of exploration with another female on award shows and performances among celebrities such as Britney and Madonna, Scarlett Johansson and Sandra Bullock, Katie Perry and more; has influenced women to a new sampling among their own.

Studies show that although a low percentile actually refer to themselves as a 'lesbian or bisexual' there is still an increase in feeling same sex desire or engaging in a same sex act.

There are 3 main drivers of the girl-girl trend:

1. Performing for the pleasure of an audience

2. Genuine Experimentation

3. Copycat Trendiness - Following the crowd

Researchers call this 'heteroflexibility' also known as sexual adventurism- a sampling of the sexual menu which allows a woman to get to know herself better and avoid regrets later.

I say: Definitely some interesting points in the article. Do you think that this 'trend' is beneficial for women to follow? Do you think that sexual experimentation is a good way to figure out what gender you prefer?

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

I MISS MUSIC: You Gotta Believe

3 Women have something to say Links to this post

Soooo... I was reading somewhere recently that Mrs. Blige is coming out with a new album some time soon. She has described it to be a 'My Life part II'. My Life had to be my favorite album of hers. If she can really take it there again, it would make me a very happy girl BUT... I can't lie, I have my doubts. That was such a great project, I can't see there being any comparison. Not only that, but, Mary's sound is so different since she has found her peace of mind. Don't get me wrong, I still love her music and I am happy for her and all of that but, her pain was beautiful to my ears. I'll keep my fingers crossed. In the meantime, I'll keep bumpin her timeless tracks.

I don't know why I chose this song in particular, the entire album was perfect in my opinion. I don't think I have a favorite.

What's your favorite My Life track?

Ttys,

LaToya

I love it! I wonder who she's talking about...

Nicki has been proving herself more and more lately. She has alot of pressure on her to 'deliver'. Hopefully this is just a small sample of what her highly anticipated album will bring.

Stay Blessed,

0 Women have something to say Links to this post

Hey Guys,

I know it's been a minute since I've posted anything but I HAD to share this one. Faith Evans is BACK. She has a new joint, a new outlook on life and she looks spectacular. I'm excited that she's returned to the music industry...but more importantly, I'm happy that she hasn't changed her look or sound. It's still the Faith we've all come to know and love.

Check out her new song below & video. The song "Gone Already" is an excellent track produced by Karma Productions [Carvin Haggins & Ivan Barias.] Please share, listen & Remember who told ya!

I have not been a big fan of hers since her very first album in the late 90s but, I loving this song. It very catchy... My daughter is here singing it all over the house, lol. The melody sounds like something I have heard from that old musical Annie. Am I right?

DIY: Louisiana Shrimp Boil

0 Women have something to say Links to this post

Hey Ladies!
Laura over at Aligator Pear has another great recipe for us!

Louisiana Shrimp Boil
(Low carb, low fat, low calorie)
Serves 4

16 large tiger shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 chorizo sausage, cut into chunks
2 cobs of corn
1 cup carrots, chopped into bite sized pieces
1 head of broccoli
Half a Spanish onion
2 cups trimmed green beans
4 cloves garlic
1 chopped and seeded jalapeno
2 tbsp butter
1 tbsp Cajun spice
Salt and pepper to taste
1 lemon

Boil shrimp until cooked, about three minutes, set aside.
Cut corn cobs into three equal pieces each. Boil until cooked, about ten minutes.
Boil broccoli and carrots until tender, about three mintues.
Gently heat butter in  a large frying pan until melted, chop garlic and onions and add to pan, sautee until onions are tender,  add chorizo and continue to sautee until sausage is browned or slightly crispy on the edges.
Add the rest of the ingredients and toss with Cajun spice for about two minutes until all ingredients are mixed together and coated in the garlic onion butter. Add salt and pepper to taste. Cut a lemon into slices and use to garnish.

POETRY: Quiet Desire

2 Women have something to say Links to this post
Every once in a while I post some "Pillow Talk" on the blog! This particular piece is a collection of thoughts that came to me the other night while writing in my vagina diary and it turned out to be something I wanted to share because I'm sure some of you can relate - Pauleanna

Quiet Desire

Throughout my beautiful experiences
And heartbreaking struggles
I've learned that true erotica at its best is more than just sex
It's an adventurous uninhibited opportunity
To explore the most intimate desires of all kinds
It's a carousel of emotions that give a woman
The freedom to express how she feels
Through acts of intense pleasure- which can be defined in any form

Its more than just connecting with a warm muscular body
It's about digging inside and locating
The deep satisfaction and demanding passion to pleasure herself
By using the sensitive curve of her fingertips to create a love song
In the triangle that connect her thighs
It's discovering intimacy within the contours of her own love lines
Like a sensual slow dance that results with an eruption as addictive as any type of drug

She is satisfied at the beat of her own drum
And finds power in being alone

5 Myths About the Female Brain

1 Women have something to say Links to this post
Out of all the myths and stereotypes said about women, I found an informative article that focused on the 5 myths About the Female Brain.

  1. Women's brains make them better at multi-tasking

  2. Women are wired to empathize

  3. Women are bad at math

  4. Girls "naturally" love dolls

  5. Talking about sex differences in the brain is risky and taboo

I was going to go into more detail, but I thought it would be way more interesting to hear your your opinions on these specific myths.

The Tricky Art of Defriending on Facebook

7 Women have something to say Links to this post
The article of discussion today is very interesting! Let me first ask, how many of you would actually go out of your way to defriend someone on Facebook? whether that's an ex lover, friend or business associate. I will be the first to admit it and raise 'both' hands because when I'm done with someone, I'm done. We've all heard the term out of sight out of mind right?

According to the article called The Tricky Art of Defriending on Facebook, it's an action more people are putting in affect. It's sudden, definite and comparable to shutting someone out of your life and depleting their access. I mean think about it this way, if you went to visit someone else's page and surprisingly found out they had defriended you, although you would feel dismissed or rejected, you would still get the point right? It's funny how Facebook is slowly becoming the foundation to most friendships now. Is it considered a priviledge to grant someone unlimited access to your online life?

I say: I think it's healthy to do a clean up every once in a while! but, hey that's just me.

What are your thoughts? Have you ever defriended someone on Facebook? or has it been done to you?

Ladies, don't be an Eeyore in your relationship!

5 Women have something to say Links to this post
Ladies, do you remember the Winnie the Pooh character Eeyore the donkey? He was best known for his gloomy attitude and unenthusiastic personality- much like alot of women in relationships! Believe it or not, yes- we often take on the persona of Eeyore when we are in a commitment. It's funny because when a woman is single, the biggest complaint is the lack of available "good" men, but then when she finds "the one", she still isn't satisfied. Nothing is ever good enough and she ends up turning something sweet into something sour.

In the article called, Ladies, don't be an Eeyore in your relationship, I read about the importance of a positive attitude. This mindset is not just limited to our love lives either, but to all aspects of life as well.

Why do women ruin the one thing they claim to want the most?

Women have been conditioned to believe that in order to succeed in this world we always have to be a step ahead of all potential problems. We need to always be ready for when the bottom falls out. We need to prepare that safety net so we cannot be caught off guard.

As a result, women are so busy analyzing what could happen in the near future that they are destroying any possibility of nurturing the present.
The article proves a fantastic point! Live in the moment and realize when a good thing comes into your life, because you never know when one day it may slip away.

I hope that you really take it in- it may change the way you view your own love life!
