Another Sex & The City 2 Movie Poster Revealed!

2 Women have something to say Links to this post

Jezebel.com Posted this recent SATC2 Movie Poster and, lets just say, they had a few "qualms".... lol

This is what they wrote:

What's wrong with the new SATC 2 poster? Where do we begin?!

  • SJP's eyes: Too close together.
  • Kim Cattral's face: Painted? Or just cut from a different body and slapped on to the one seen here?
  • Kim Cattrall's elbow: Obviously carved out of a larger arm. The proportions from elbow to wrist are insane. And are the bones in her elbow really wider than her neck?
  • The size of the phantom calf allegedly belonging to Sarah Jessica Parker is not in proportion to the rest of her body — or to the more visible leg.
  • Does Kristin Davis have legs? Is that her knee? Has she sunk ankle-deep into the sand? (Is it quicksand?)
  • Since when does Kristin Davis have a giant rack?
  • No wonder Cynthia Nixon is trying to slink out of the frame.

Well, those are the problems we see — in addition to a general sense that instead of the actresses, they used zombies to pose for this image. Spot any other issues? Let us know!

Below is a clean pic that hasn't been written on:

Ladies - Hangover Cures: Myth, Legend & Fact

0 Women have something to say Links to this post

How many times have you tried a hangover cure that you've heard from a girlfriend and it only ended up making you feel worse? After a late night out, one commonality between many party goers is a hangover.

In this informative article I read called; Hangover Cures: Myth, Legend & Fact I found out some great (factual) ways to get rid of that terrible headache after filling up your body with alcohol and I also discovered popular myths, that you should avoid that end up making you feel worse.

The article uncovers the obvious MYTHS:

DRINKING MORE ALCOHOL - Hahahah... I'm sure we've all tried it! At least once, or twice;)
DRINKING JUICE/COFFEE AFTERWARD - the goal is to speed up your metabolism so as to accelerate your body processing the alcohol... Umm... next
SLAMMING PAINKILLERS - To be honest, two Advil Gel capsules and lots of water has always worked for me, although the OTC drug and alcohols combo is probably harmful at best and deadly at worst - I have tried it (dare I say, several times) and it did worked.(PS - this is Shannae speaking)

And now for WHAT WORKS:

DRINKING WATER - Obvs
EATING UP! Also Obvs
And that's pretty much it... Do you agree that these are the only two remedies?

I don't want to give the whole article away, so check it out for yourself! I'd be interested to know what methods you have tried in the past and any new suggestions that you may have for our readers!

Samantha Ronson's Words... @SamanthaRonson

Name: Samantha Ronson

Age: 32

Zodiac: Leo

Samantha said: "I'm not here. This isn't happening" If I sing that to myself enough times will it be true?

I say: That never works... I've tried ;D... But I guess that the bigger moral of the story is this. Tackle situations as fast as possible head on. When you try and ignore them, hoping that they go away, they only get bigger and harder to deal with.

Have a great Friday Everyone!

I had a mini "Basketball Wives" marathon with my girls last night (What a Show!! lol) and my attention was temporarily diverted while hearing this song on the show. Primarily because the song is DOPE, but secondly because the played it at the perfect time (a girls night out) and it applied to the girls on the show...

I'ts a new take on "Fool me once - Shame on you... Fool me twice - Shame on me"

What do you think? Do you like it? PS - Do I have any Basketball wives fans out there??

Barbra said: "Around people I don't know, I'm totally at a loss."

I say: OMG... Until now I thought that I was the only one! (Well i'm joking... I guess.. ) -- Sometimes I feel like I have no place doing what I am doing in life because, unlike most people who decide to pursue the public/social life, I have to admit, that I feel very uncomfortable around people that I don't know and haven't met before.... I know it may sound kind of weird, but its the truth. When I'm in big crowds with tonnes of people, and even sometimes at my events, I feel an instinctive urge to run for the hills!

Style: CLOGS ARE BACK

2 Women have something to say Links to this post

Once again fashion has recycled itself and Clogs are back with a vengeance. Celebrities like the fashion forward Ashley Olsen and 90210 star Shenae Grimes have been spotted rocking this seventies trend. So don’t be too surprised if you start seeing your friends clip-clopping down the streets in them too. It’s not a joke. It’s fashion. I don’t know about you, but I already picked up my pair. (pictured below) I got mine from Kurt Geiger.
What do you guys think? Are you going to be rocking this look anytime soon?

Silda Said:  "The Wife is supposed to take care of the sex.  This is my failing.  I wasn't adequate"

I say: Call me prejudiced, but I was quite surprised to find out that she was a Harvard Educated Lawer.  why? My vision of someone as accomplished and educated as her WOULD NOT STAY  WITH ELLIOT. I guess Marriage is a complicated arena that, unless you venture into, you will never fully understand, but that's my take on the situation.

What's your take on the issue? Do you agree that it was partially her fault? Or do you think that certain relations eventually run their course and infidelity (especially on the part of the male) is inevitable???

More Versace Love...

You got your first dose of Versace love this weekend... Well here's some more?

What's the verdict on these ones? Yay? or Nay?

With the right dress and the right occasion, I say YAY!
Ciara recently rocked these on the red carpet... Did she work it?

IMO toes hanging off the edges is not the business so I think that Ciara #FAILED at her attempt to rock these, but all she needs to do is go up half a size and she's good!

Damn Heels: Turning Blisters into Big Bucks! @DamnHeels

0 Women have something to say Links to this post
I was browsing the Toronto Star and came across a great article called Turning Blisters into Big Bucks about a young woman named Hailey Coleman who thought of an inventive solution to a common problem that women across the city experience. (You may also remember her from our Spring Trend Report Event!)

The Problem: Aching feet after a night of dancing out at the club in 3-5 inch stilettos.

Her Solution: In March 2009 she launched a product called Damn Heels- which are fold up ballerina flats small enough to fit into a clutch purse.

The article reveals how Coleman built the brand from scratch.

"Coleman, a recent graduate of Ryerson’s marketing program, spent nearly a year working on Damn Heels before she sold her first shoe in December 2009. She hired a shoe designer through Craigslist, consulted a PR agency and web designers, investigated shipping and, finally, financed the project with student loans and lines of credit."

Her story is inspiring because she shares first hand how she turned such a small idea into a money making business.

Damn Heels come in three sizes: small (size 5/6), medium (size 7/8) and large (size 9/10), and retail for $20.

BOOKS: WWW Recommends Fabulosity By Kimora Lee Simmons

4 Women have something to say Links to this post
FABULOSITY (n) 1. a state of everything that is fabulous. 2. a quality ascribed to that which expresses glamour, style, charisma, power and heart

In 2006, Kimora Lee Simmons came out with an amazing book called Fabulosity: What it is & How to get it. She talks about her personal views on practically everything that women deal with on a regular basis such as; Self esteem & Confidence, Work & Power, Independence, Image & Body, Romance & Lifestyle, and Positivity & Sustainability.

I've always loved Kimora and respected her as a business woman, but when I picked up this book it confirmed that she is so much more than what we hear or see on television. In every chapter she backs up her points with a relevant life experience, which is great because it allows us to see the real her and know that she stands behind exactly what she says.

One of my favourite quotes from the book:

"Strong and silent until necessary"

..from the chapter Work & Power. It's a mantra that she encourages women to keep in mind, which means to have grace under pressure and to pick your battles wisely because you cannot change the frustrations, disappointments and conflicts in life - but you can change the way you respond to them. When you smile and make the best out of every situation, you will see how much your life will start working for you instead of against you!

Honestly, there are hundreds of amazing points that I could share with you, but why not read it for yourself! I highly recommend this book to you ladies.

Have I ever stirred you wrong?

HAPPY READING!

Sex & The City is (obviously) synonymous with fashion and between our pending SATC2 party and the movie coming up on May 27th, we literally don't know what to do with ourselves!

So we decided to do a post - on SATC FASHION of course!

I'm sure that you've watched the Trailer a gagillion times by now, but we wanted to give you the run down on some of our favorite looks from those few exciting seconds.

Samantha’s Red Lady Gaga Dress (with the spiked embellished shoulders) is KILLER

The Girls’ Priscilla Queen of the Desert Looks Strutting in the desert

Samantha doing her best Cleopatra

The ladies embracing desert cowboy chic...

Carrie’s J’adore Dior look, made complete over top a violet gown (Obvi) --- Remember when she wore the blue J'adore Dior tank to see Lucy Lui?? (Good luck finding the tank by the way... I've searched EVERYWHERE FOR IT!)

Costume vixen Patricia Fields returns to dress the ladies for SATC2. The fashion in this year's movie is like Disney's Aladdin meets Manhattan. (Turbans, hammer pants, gladiator heels etc.)

Source

Every time I see new photos surface my heart leaps and it’s definitely because of the accessories but more specifically the SHOES. Pat has this amazing art, to make clothes and the characters come to life by pairing them with the appropriate shoes and bags. I’m in love with Charlotte’s pink skirt suit, it’s like Business Woman meets Barbie.

I love the fact that they recycled Carrie's Dior newspaper dress from season 3 and the Louboutins that Pat paired with this dress are like make-up to the feet.

And I'm DYING to see where the 80’s inspired costumes fit in to the movie!

And last but not least below are clips of SJP on the set of the recent cover that she shot for VOGUE talking about her life her babies and SATC MOVIE2, (Of course!) and the second clip is of her on the set of the first movie.  Isn't it funny how things change in just two years! :)

Can't wait!
