Hey Ladies!
Our Sex & The City Party is right around the corner and let me tell you, we are soooo excited! We’ve sold over 50% of the tickets already, so this event is going to be a definite sell out. Tickets can be purchased at www.sjpyyz.eventbrite.com
I’ve been getting a lot of questions about the BIG DAY so I want to answer them here:
WHAT COMES WITH THE TICKET?
ALL ticket holders get a Cineplex Odeon movie ticket so that you can watch SATC2 anytime after the event! Ticket holders also get a complimentary “Carrie Cosmo”, a giftbag stuffed with items from our Beauty, Fragrance and Beverage Sponsors and you get to party AND SHOP all night with the hottest girls (and guys) that this city has to offer!
WHERE IS IT?
The Secret Location has been revealed! It is going to be at 99 Sudbury
IS THIS EVENT ON FACEBOOK?
Yes indeed! RSVP Here
WHAT IS THIS “DATING” THING ALL ABOUT?
First off, the “dating” thing is optional (Non-Single girls are welcome!) but we are adding a unique “dating” element to the party in celebration of the single lives that our favorite four girls lived in the Big Apple!
"In Toronto (YYZ), a city with over 5 million people and more than 1 million single men, there's bound to be that special one for you... Do you know the perfect guy, but you only see them as a friend and you know they'd treat their special girl like a queen? So do I! So does She!!! So bring that fantastic eligible man to our SATC party. I'll bring mine, she'll bring hers and it will be a party... Sex in the City style!”
Yes, you read right, SINGLE MEN COME FOR FREE. Sorry guys, no gift bag, or movie ticket for you, but you get to party free of charge with a bevy of beauties!
WHAT WILL HAPPEN AT THE EVENT?
There will be tonnes of girls in cute “Carrie Style” cocktail dresses, dancing, mixing, mingling, sipping cocktails, getting pampered and shopping amongst several SATC themed vendors. We've been posting about the vendors on the blog. Check them out here!
WHAT’S THE DRESS CODE?
Carrie Cocktail Dress Chic and you can get outfitted "Carrie Style" by The Red Carpet Room!
WHERE CAN I GET TICKETS?
Tickets are available online at sjpyyz.eventbrite.com and tickets will be available for purchase at Fashionably Yours Designer Consignment Boutique early next week.

Hey Shannae, just letting you know that the event was horrible. Its not what I expected. 1st I entered the event and was suprised that you did not even need a ticket to gain access. Then the promise that we would receive Tickets to the movie was not fulfilled. We had to provide our address. So WHEN WILL WE RECEIVE THESE TICKETS? 2 WEEKS AFTER THE MOVIE HAS BEEN RELEASED? I PAID $40 FOR A CINEPLEX ODEON TICKET?
SORRY I FELT LIKE I WENT TO A FLEA MARKET AFTER CHURCH!
THE ONLY FASHIONABLY PEOPLE THEIR WERE THESE TWO INDIAN LOOKING GIRLS (HOT!!! THEIR DRESSES AND SHOES WERE BANGING) AND ANOTHER GIRL WITH A POWERED SHOULDER CREME DRESS. YOUR ATTIRE! WOMP WOMP. THATS ALL I'M SAYING. I WILL BE WATCHING THE MOVIE TONIGHT AND I GUESS SELL THE TICKET IF AND EVER IT ARRIVES. NEVER AGAIN!
THE FREE COSMOS? WHAT WAS THAT FRUIT PUNCH?
I must say I was very dissapointed as well. The impression I got was that EVERYONE was getting a perfume(not a sample size), a blush and a movie ticket. Much to my surprise when my bag only had Fuze juice and my cousin had all the items listed in hers. I approached one of the ladies handing out the bags - as I assumed it was obviously a mistake. she went on to tell me that not ALL bags will have the same thing! Is that not false advertising?? since that was part of the Promo??? $40 and not all bags have the same?? anyway, we left early and I totally forgot about the movue ticket, but from reading the comments, it's clear we wouldn't have recieved them last night anyway...
At least I made a couple of purchases, but I feel we should have received a lot more.
Thanks so much for all of your feedback. Please email me if you didn't receive a movie ticket and I'll be happy to send you a movie ticket in the mail.
And if you have any other concerns, you can email me directly at shannae@ilovewhatwomenwant.com, but if you feel more comfortable you are more than welcome to leave them here on the blog.
Thanks again
Shannae
Hi Shannae,
I also wasn't impressed by last nights event. While I think it was okay, it was nothing like I expected.
We went into the event, got our bags & were shocked. Like someone else mentioned, our movie passes weren't in there & I thought the perfume would've been full sized. When we went back to get our movie passes, we were treated as if we were trying to steal extra ones. It wasn't our fault that the staff was poorly organized & we shouldn't have been treated in such a way. It was really quite offensive. The staff didn't even know each other by name, they were referring to each other by "the one with the black dress" etc. It was very unprofessional.
We then went further in to get our drinks which was more like pink lemonade than the "Carrie Cosmo" advertised.
The venue was way too tiny for the number of people that were there. Perhaps you should've capped ticket sales or found a larger place.
Lastly, I felt like I had just wasted $40.00 to just come and spend more money. It was like paying to gain entry to a flea market.
I feel as if the advertising for the event was very misleading and I didn't appreciate that. Had you called it a shopping party or something to that effect, it would've been much better.
I'm very hesitant to attend another one of your events as I feel I can no longer trust your advertising.
Hi Shannae,
I'll have to agree to what all the previous ladies have said. And it kills me because I am such a fan. I went to an event earlier this year on the same venue, where the ticket was $25 and the had a "hair/make-up touch up" station for free, a complementary glass of champagne and although the swag bag contained samples, it fulfilled its promise, I wasn't surprised when I opened it. It also had a dance floor and various performances and even a raffle for a trip to Miami. All in all, when I compare these events I feel like I got more bang for my buck on the first one.
I hope this was a great learning experience for yourself and your team. Maybe next year you can invest some money and have a hair/make up station, pitch your idea to grey goose to get a sponsorship, or even the NYC tourism board to get a free trip. These are things that really make an impact, because at the end of the day, when the hype dies down, people will remember your product and will talk about it. And you're the master of social networking, (how many of us can sell 1,000 tickets at $40 a pop? kudos to you for that) so you know that word of mouth can make you or break you.
When its all said and done I don't think your event lived up to the hype for us regular girls.
I do admire your ambition and drive, and i truly hope you can bounce back, take what you learned and become a force to be reckoned with.
Sarah
Thanks for your comment Sarah.
Like I said I am taking all of your comments into consideration.
I've been doing events since 2006 and to date every single one of my events has sold out and has been considered (in the eyes of most) a success. I've worked extremely hard on this event and to be honest, most of the feedback that I've received has been positive, but I also recognize that getting constructive criticism is very valuable and will only make me and my business stronger. So I welcome your comments, as hard as they may be for me to see and read.
I can really only promise you that I will take all of your comments very seriously and will try to learn from all of them. I am definitely not going anywhere, so should you ever decide to come to my future events, you will have an opportunity to see how I've learned from your suggestions/comments.
But with all of that said, I always try to remember not to let positive praise or negative feedback go to my head because its never as good as people make it out to be or as bad as people make it out to be.
This quote sums it up perfect!
"I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. Twenty-six times I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed."
~ Michael Jordan
Keep the comments coming if you have them - I am taking it all in, so that I can do better next time!
Love you all, Shannae xo
Good day Shannae,
I loved the event and the venue. I was disappointed with the bag that we received and the fact that movie tickets were not available.
I have emailed and facebooked you many times regarding the tickets with no response. Please do confirm with me that the movie tickets have been mailed as my friends who I purchased tickets for are waiting on their tickets.
I do believe the event could have been a bit more successful with more than one bar where we could be serviced, a makeup touch up station although the free manis and eyebrows were unique and appreciated.
It was still an amazing attempt and I look forward to see your events grow and be more successful than this one.
Sincerely,
Solange
Hey Shannae,
I am hitting you up at all your locations as I have yet to receive a response from you regarding my movie tickets. Please let me know if they have been mailed out or what the status is. The fact that you ran out of tickets to begin with was very unprofessional but hey what would you care, you've already collected everyone's money. People should not have had to ask about the movie tickets... from the time you ran out you should of done damage control and let people know when they arrived what the procedure would be regarding receiving the movie tickets. Why do I have to contact you for something that I have paid for? Not impressed. Almost two weeks after your event and nothing from you. Get it together, you live and you learn, try and correct this error and move on.

I didn't attend this event, but after hearing all of the negative press, it appears a though you've all been swindled!
This Shannae person only posts the odd response here and there to make it appear as though she actually cares about your complaints and is actually doing something about it.
If this was a bigger case, I would suggest that you all take legal action against her for breach of contract and misrepresentation, but as it isn't, I would suggest you cut your losses.
I understand that getting what you paid for is all in the principle of the thing, but the best way to show how principled you truly are is to boycott further events hosted by this person and to let others know of your inconvenience so that she won't get away with it again.
The fact that she only responds to the positive comments and doesn't try to rectify the negative by way of providing relevant information, means that she doesn't care how you feel and will continue to swindle people.
Just a thought.
Judge for yourself.
Hi guys,
Please email me directly with your mailing address if you didn't receive your movie ticket.
There were nearly 1000 people that attended this event and had a wonderful experience and of that group of 1000 there were about 100 women that didn't receive movie tickets.
I would just hope that some of you can imagine what it has been like to address the situation with our supplier as well as all of the individuals affected. I am just as bothered by this as all of you and welcome your feedback and comments.
I am taking full accountability for what has happened, I am not hiding, nor am I going anywhere - just send me an email and we will take care of you as soon as possible.

Hi Ladies,
Just an update;
As of today all of the movie tickets and packages have been sent out. So you should receive your movie tickets by the end of the week at the latest.
Once again, I am terribly sorry for the delay and I appreciate everyone's patience and understanding.
