Sex and The City 2 Movie Sneak Video!!

1 Women have something to say Links to this post

One of most loyal readers (Tonya Facey) posted this video on my facebook with the best introduction:
Okay, so I'm kind of anti ANOTHER Sex and the City movie but I couldn't resist! The trailer had me with the opening notes of "Empire State of Mind" and last week I spent a solid hour looking for a vintage "J'Adore Dior" t-shirt and look who's wearing one in the trailer (which means I can't buy one anymore, don't want to bite Carrie's style) - clearly, it's fate. Enjoy!
Thanks T! I had a J'adore Dior Tank in Blue with Yellow writing (although it was fake and I got it for $15) -- But now I want to bring it out of hiding or at least find another one on Ebay!

Jada Pinkett's Words...

3 Women have something to say Links to this post

Name: Jada Pinkett Smith

Age: 38

Zodiac: Virgo

Jada said: “We all think there is a formula, (but) as long as we love our children, that's really the only solid thing I know that works across the board”

I say: One of my biggest fears is failing at motherhood... I feel like with all of the hopes and aspirations that I have for myself, how will I find the time? To me, a strong maternal relationship is paramount. Even moreso than a paternal one. I guess I don't have much to worry about for the time being since I'm single and likely years away from marriage let alone motherhood, yet I find myself thinking hard about it every time the subject comes up... Jada's quote above is promising (because I know I'm great at loving) - but I feel like it takes more than that... Anyway - I'm going to be taking a maternal "leap of faith", if you will, in the New Year and I'm really excited about it. I'll be able to share more details when the time comes, but I feel like if I succeed at this, I'll feel a lot more confident about my ability to succeed in the maternal arena....

Does anybody else feel me???

Love you all

BOOKS: WWW Recommends The Power of Now

0 Women have something to say Links to this post

A New York Times Bestseller and part of Oprah’s book club, The Power of Now is a high profile self-help novel that has had a positive impact on my life and has also transformed my way of thinking. The spiritual leader, Eckhart Tolle, writes about finding enlightenment and satisfaction in your life through your own positive energy that lies within you. Below is one of my favourite passages from the book!
“People will often enter into a compulsive pursuit of ego-gratification and things to identify with in order to fill a hole they feel within. So they strive after possessions, money, success, power, recognition, or a special relationship, so that they can feel better about themselves, feel more complete. But even when they attain all these things, they soon find that the hole is still there, that it is bottomless.

As long as the egoic mind is running your life, you cannot truly be at ease; you cannot be at peace or fulfilled except for in brief intervals when you obtained what you wanted or when a craving has just been fulfilled. The most common ego identifications have to do with possessions, the work you do, social status and recognition, knowledge and education, physical appearance, special abilities, relationships, etc.

Your identity cannot be found in any of these things.”

Not only are his words thought provoking, but his insight on meditation, relationships and ideas towards maintaining a simple lifestyle captivated my attention and connected me with my own present day realities. Personally, I had to read this book twice to really take it in, so don’t worry if you’re not able to finish it before the next book recommendation, because the words are meant to be savoured. I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

Happy Reading Ladies!

All I want for Christmas...

6 Women have something to say Links to this post

Wow... nearly 365 days have passed since the last time I did this... Its kind of hard to believe...

I've never been big on going out and getting a tonne of gifts during Christmas... for my family and I this time of year is usually one of reflection, getting together and enjoying each other's company. As a matter of fact my dad would never buy my sister and I Christmas gifts, he'd just give us money to go shopping on Boxing Day because thats when all of the deals are anyway!

So here is the list of things on my list for the year... Some of the items have been crossed off the list because I've actually already started!

1. A Yorkie!!! I don't have one yet, BUT I have insider info that the WWW family will be growing with the addition of a four legged friend!

2. A Mac Book Pro! I use a PC, but everyone tells me that a Mac is a blogger MUST HAVE!

4. Braces! I've wanted braces for the past 5 years (my teeth have been taking on a life of their own!) I have just been debating whether I want perfect teeth bad enough to duke it out looking like Ugly Betty for a year or two... I dunno - what do you think??

5. A new flat screen TV! I couldn't resist... I picked one up last week (a 32" Samsung 1080 pixel) and I love it!!

6. Photoshop for Dummies - I spend so much time in front of the damn computer that I should really take the time to learn Photoshop, Flash and HTML... If I could do all of that well, life would be sooooo easy! I might even start a side business! lol

7. I did red lipstick (and I'm lovin it) - I think I'm ready to go for pink lips now... Any suggestions??

8. I need a new DVF! Its been about a year since I've bought from my fave Designer... Right now, my favorite in her collection is this Colida Strapless Printed Dress.

9. Artwork, I moved into a new place this summer and I did a great job at selecting great artwork for the walls.... But there is one wall that is empty and for the life of me I can't find the write wall piece - HELP!! lol

10. I got my first Herve Leger dress this year, and let me tell you, those dresses are as awesome as everyone says they are!! I'm ready for a second one... I really like the tank bandage dress.... Timeless, classic and I can wear a bra with it (Bonus!)

11. So my digital camera decides to just stop working on me... I was sooooo pissed!! So, needless to say, I have to go out and get a new one... I don't wanna spend more than $200 - Anyone have any suggestions??

12. I think this was on my list last year, but who cares!! I need a Leather Chanel Flap Bag before I die...

And last but not least... the best gift to myself will be spending time with...

MY FAMILY!!!!! I can't wait to see them!

Happy Holidays Everybody!

Career Post: What happens if they Google you??

5 Women have something to say Links to this post

I was browsing on CNN and I came across an article that jumped out at me. It speaks about the consequences of your digital footprint and how the information that you post on social networking sites (ie. facebook, myspace) will affect whether or not you are offered the job.

If you’re currently seeking a new career, finding the perfect interview suit and having an error free resume is the least of your worries. Now more than ever, you should also be concerned about the content that you display online, because employers are now googling before hiring! But, keep in mind that it doesn’t mean you should have absolutely no online presence either, its always best recommended to find a happy medium by displaying useful content and keeping your reputation clean.

“Most employers nowadays hop on Google to search a name as a preliminary step, either before or right after the interview," says Monique Tatum, author of "Jumping Off the Curb and Into SEO Traffic." "A positive and strong online presence can play a tremendous part in the employer's first impression."

“Thirty-five percent of employers said that what they found caused them not to hire a candidate.”

"You're paying them to represent your company, and your reputation affects theirs. No company wants a newspaper headline with their name in it because of an embarrassing employee."

Can anyone relate?!

If you're curious about your online presence, then take a moment to google yourself!

I definitely have a relatable case – I will share my experience in the comment section of this post! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

PS - Shannae has one too! And she will be sharing it in the comment section also ;D

Relationships: What every girl can learn from Michelle Obama...

5 Women have something to say Links to this post
I was reading this article about some of the misconceptions women have about finding "The One" and this passage struck me:

"Holding out for the perfect man, someone who is intellectual but not nerdy—cool but not arrogant—impeccably dressed but not effeminate—not a player but with just the right amount of edge—is USELESS. "

"Smart can go with a little nerdy. Artsy can be accompanied by off-beat. Ambitious and focused may mean less than a social butterfly. Yes, there was that one guy in law school who was easily 6’5’’, a Rhodes Scholar and a rapper with a baby face to top things off. I’m not saying it’s impossible, but please!"

I personally would have ended the last sentence with B!#@& please, lol, but you get the drift right?? So many of us (myself included) are doing the relationship thing ass backwards. When Michelle met Barack, he was the broke-pocket lawyer with big ears who was doing community service in Chicago. But Michelle saw him for who he was, she saw his potential and they built something amazing together... To me an organic relationship like that is a lot more powerful...

My girlfriend and I were talking about this the other night... Forget all of the hot shots! We are gonna start going for nerds!! lmao

Travel: The 100 largest cities in the World

7 Women have something to say Links to this post
(Tokyo, Japan)

Traveling the World is very important to me, not just because of the wonderful experiences and the culture, but to me, its a form of education. I was sitting with some friends over the weekend and we were debating what the biggest cities in the World were by population... There were some obvious cities that topped the list, but there were also a few surprises...

Over time, I want to visit all of the 10 largest cities in the World, but in addition to that, I want to visit other places unique for their geography and culture - not just their population.

Here are the 10 largest cities in the World:

1. Tokyo, Japan - 28,025,000
2. Mexico City, Mexico - 18,131,000
3. Mumbai, India - 18,042,000
4. Sáo Paulo, Brazil - 17, 711,000
5. New York City, USA - 16,626,000
6. Shanghai, China - 14,173,000
7. Lagos, Nigeria - 13,488,000
8. Los Angeles, USA - 13,129,000
9. Calcutta, India - 12,900,000
10. Buenos Aires, Argentina - 12,431,000

My surprises? Lagos, Nigeria and Los Angeles, California - I knew those cities were big, but not top 10 in the World big - Especially LA! FYI - Toronto was number 50 on the list... I wasn't surprised by that at all... lol

For those that are so inclined you can check out the full list of the 100 biggest cities here.

Where have you been on the list and where do you think I should try to visit first? I wanna go to Tokyo!

Relationships: Does height matter?

9 Women have something to say Links to this post
I feel like there are so many "unspoken" relationship rules that affect who you do or don't and should or shouldn't date. One of those cardinal rules is height - women tend to go for a guy who's at the very least the same height or taller than them...

Me? I used be one of those girls who was like - If you aren't at least 6 feet DON'T TALK TO ME lol... Why? Probably because I was immature and all of my african american relationship references were couples like Will and Jada, Grant Hill and Tamia etc. etc. But after splitting from my long term BF (who was 6'3"), I decided to give short guys a chance... and you know what it was cool! I rocked flats with the first short guy that I dated, so it wouldn't look weird, but then platforms and 5 inch heels became the lick and there was no way that I was gonna sit out on that trend so I rocked my heels whether the dude was short or not... and you know what? I didn't care...

I have some friends who would NEVER... others who don't care and the rest would prefer someone tall but would be willing to date a short dude if the connection was there... What about you? Is a short guy a deal breaker?

Lemme know!
