This just hit home for me so I thought I'd share...
I've always made an effort to be cool with everyone, avoid conflict, etc. etc. But some people are just not going to like you no matter what you say or do. In fact, some people aren't going to like you BECAUSE of what you say and do - even if what you are saying and doing is GOOD! Its just a fact of life... I've known this for years, but I think I've finally come to terms with it...

I am intrigued and (dare I say it) slightly envious of a girl with a badass swag who will shave her head and have an "and what?" attitude about it... Its very Grace Jones and Sinead O'Connor at the same time... you feel me??
Anyway, what are your thoughts on Amber Rose? What do you know about her? What do you think of her hair? Her style?? I wanna know how old she is, her zodiac sign (can't find it), the city she reps (can't find that either!) and what her story is? So far I've been able to gather that she is dating Yeezy (obvi), and is a model/dancer... Anybody know anything else?? in any event... she caught my eye... and I thought you guys might want to speak on it too...

I dunno who started this, but I am way late and thought it would be good for some mindless reading on a Friday...
Anyhee, here goes...
1. My middle name is Mika
2. I was the only black kid in my class for pretty much all of elementary, jr. high and high school
3. When I was little I used to eat snow, now that I'm older I still do. I love it and it reminds me of my childhood!
4. I talk to myself all of the time (especially when I'm driving)... then I think someone is watching and I pretend to be on the phone.
5. I have bucked teeth and I am super subconscious about it - I actually want to get braces
6. I used to run Track and Field back in the day. I was actually kinda good! Google me baby! lol
7. Growing up, I used to think that I was adopted and would snoop in my mom's bedroom looking for my "adoption papers" on the regular (lol)... I carried those thoughts into adulthood, until I started staring really hard at a recent pic of my dad and I. At that point I realized that I am the female version of him!
8. I have a weird addiction to playing with people's ear lobes... male or female - I can't help myself and sometimes I touch someone's earlobes on purpose and pretend I did it by accident... I can't help myself! lol
9. I'm obsessed with Pisces women and their life stories, (Drew Barrymore, Liz Taylor, Vanessa Williams, ErykahBadu, Queen Latifah, Rihanna, Dakota Fanning, Cindy Crawford - you name it). In a way I feel connected to them and gain inspiration through their life journeys...
10. The first movie that made me cry was Thelma and Louise... When they drove off the cliff! *sniffle*
11. I am obsessed with astrology and often times don't remember people's names... just their sign. I'll be like "Yeh, that Scorpio girl" like ALL the time!
12. Further to number 11. I think I know nearly every celebrity's sign... I'm actually kinda psychotic about it. The first thing I do when I read or hear about a new celeb... I wikipedia them asap to find out. Then I NEVER forget.
13. I know how to sing Jingle Bells in Mandarin... No I REALLY do, we studied China in grade 6 and that was my special project... I still know all of the words by heart to this day... Ding Dang Dong, Ding Dang dong...

16. I grew up in a city called Calgary, Alberta (Home of the Calgary Stampede) and I moved to Toronto when I was 19.

22. Contrary to popular belief, I am a big home body and would choose staying home curled up in a good book over going out to the club- EVERY TIME
23. Sometimes I get scared at night when I'm by myself, then I grab my Bible and I sleep with it like its a stuffed animal. It works like a charm.
24. I get in weird moods where I avoid people and don't pick up my phone or call anyone for days.... Its ruined friendships in the past and my family hates when I do it - but its something I've done my whole life... Like, I feel like I need to do it... its weird
25. My greatest fear in life is to be unsuccessful....
26. My only rule in life is BREAK THEM! No honestly.... most of my proudest accomplishments in life have come to pass because someone told me I couldn't do something... I have one of those "Oh Hell to the Nah" attitudes that makes me want to prove people wrong or break a rule that I think is stupid and shouldn't be there in the first place... Hence Rule # 26 (who said there had to be 25?? lol)
27. A lot of people think that I'm this bougie, prissy, black valley girl that is really into myself... That couldn't be further from the truth, first off - I have hopes and dreams just like everyone else and I struggle to pay my bills just like the average Jane; I have huge student loans, credit card debt and couldn't afford to be bougie even if I wanted to!lol... But more importantly, I'm very laid back, I love to crack jokes, make fun of people (myself included) and get into all kinds of trouble... but anyhee it dawned on me that I didn't add these last two (important) tidbits about meeee... lol

Just Jared posted on Michelle covering People Magazine this week! And guess what? She's wearing African American designer Tracy Reese! There was some recent controversy surrounding Michelle not wearing designs from an African American Designer, so this is great to see! Here's a lil tidbit on Tracey Reese:

After watching the Oscars Red Carpet this weekend (i.e. Lisa Rinna & Mickey Rourke), I felt compelled to write about women and our obsession to look better. I am not against nor am I an advocate of cosmetic surgery, but I think that it is an issue that us ladies should talk about.
I've said this one million times... I started this blog so that I could be that "person" or outlet to someone that didn't have anyone to talk to about certain things... So here I am, opening up again;
I can't even lie, I have SERIOUSLY considered getting a nose job and did some HEAVY research on AfricanAmericanrhinoplasty.... At one point I was so obsessed, I would create pictures of myself with a fake nose on the regular! Kinda like this one... lol I have struggled with self image issues and depending on the day, I think my nose is too big and I want (and I am gonna get) braces... (Trust me, I have buck teeth and my bottom grill is f'd up. I am really good at hiding it, but every now and then a picture like THIS one or THIS one surfaces - hahah)... I also have no butt whatsoever, that is why I had to rock my padded panties this weekend! lol
And don't hate on my padded panties! Get your own pair! lol - I know you want to...
The point I am trying to make is that I feel like a few changes here and there, won't hurt anybody, but at what point does it go overboard?? Everyone comes with the cookie cutter phrase "you look great just the way that you are"... But for some people that is just not the truth!! In my opinion, Ashley Simpson made a great move getting her nose job... and so did Janet Jackson and Patti LaBelle. But then I see Lisa Rinna looking like someone smashed her in the face with a frying pan, returned to the stove turned that ish on the HIGH and smashed her in the face again for good measure. Not to mention Lil Kim (DAYUM!) or Michael Jackson (Oh Hell nah!!)....
IN CLOSING: I don't want to be misread or misunderstood... At the end of the day, what lies beneath is the most important. I really do believe that... Trust me, I wouldn't be putting up unflattering pics of myself, if I wasn't confident enough to know that that stuff doesn't matter. But what about those who still want someone to talk to after having weighed all of the options? I don't think that those people should be left in the dark. Its just not fair - plus, we don't want anymore Lisa Rinnas and Lil Kims walking around!!! They should have asked us first!
Second - I am not an expert!! I just want this blog post to be that "girlfriend" that you can call and will tell you the straight goods - even if what she says isn't what you want to hear.... If you want expert advice, book a consultation with a cosmetic surgeon that has come highly recommended.
Ladies. Have you had plastic surgery? Are you for it? Are you against it? Would you recommend it? Why? Who do you think could use a touch up? Who do you think shouldn't have gone under the knife? Is there anyone who is bold enough to submit a photo asking for an honest opinion??

After watching the last episode of The City, I kinda fell in love with Pottsy's cuter than cute girfliend!! Pottsy's Girlfriend is the one who gave Whitney the "low down" on Jay in the last episode. I was so intrigued by her that I decided to do some Internet creeping and I found out that her name is Jessica Hart and she is a successful model in her own right! Come on, do they ban you from wearing make-up and make you look kinda strung out if you are a Shop Bop model??? Talk about blah!
