Goodbye Dad...

(From left: LaToya Ingleton, Shannae Ingleton, Tareke Ingleton & Lance Ingleton - Jan 2, 1953 - Sep.30 2009)

“Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.”

I've shared so much with you all, so its only natural for me to share this with you as well...

I lost my dad this morning...

My dad was a man of great achievement, strength, confidence and pride. He encouraged everyone in our family to go boldy in the direction of their dreams and to be nothing but the best. My dad was the most influential person in my life.

My family and I are managing well but would like to take this time to reflect on his amazing life, think about next steps and talk to him, because we know he's listening...

I will be back soon

Shay

Shannae,

My deepest condolences to your family. I'm so sorry for your loss. I know what it's like to lose a loved one and thought I'd share a poem that's helped me: "Life is eternal, and love is immortal, and death is only a horizon, and a horizon is nothing save the limit of our sight."
~Rossiter Worthington Raymond

Take care & stay strong.

I'm so sorry for your loss Shannae & family, I too know what it is like to lose a father.

Remember the good times, learn from the bad ones. Reach for the stars more now that you know he is always going to be watching over you.

Love harder- cherish the love only a father can give.

Miss him. Think of him everyday and when you happen to not think about him everyday, don't feel bad... Just know any pain that may be there is getting easier to accept.

With God and Love-
xoxox,
Honey Matthews.

Shannae (and the whole Ingleton family), I am so sorry for your loss and hope that you accept my deepest condolences.

I don't know if this will help but celebrate the life of your Dad, all that he did for you, all the times he supported you and for him being a blessed constant in your life who you lived with, loved and laughed with. Let the laughter you shared ring in your ears day by day, let the love you shared and received through him warm your heart every day. And retell the memories and times that you had with him so he is as vivid as he was on this Earth.

Don't think of it as a loss but think of it as a gain. The Lord now has the angel that he needed and now your dad is closer to God, meaning that you are all the more loved and cared for in heaven.

Hello Shannae;

You don't know me and I don't know you but I knew your Dad. I attended most of the LIP shows at the Copa back in the day and they were some of the best concert memories that I have. It is because of your father's passion for Reggae music and his professional presentation of our culture that my husband and I became involved in the entertainment business. Your father was always very supportive of our endeavours and will always be one of our role models. How fortunate for you to have such a great man as your father. He was always willing to discuss life and his experiences with us. I am sure he has taught you many things. I will always remember his brilliant smile and infectious laugh. My prayers are with you and your family.

Oh Shannae. Please accept my sincerest condolences. I'm so sorry to hear about your loss, but so happy to hear about the love that you had for him. I know that many people haven't been blessed with this kind of love for their fathers. So although he's not here physicially, I hope that you will always hold on to that love. You are in my thoughts and prayers. God bless you and your family during this challenging time.

To all of Lance's children,

My heartfelt condolences. He will live in our hearts forever.
So many great memories of your dad.
Your dad and a few of us go way back to concerts at the Copa and a few other well known establishments around town.He was a classy man ;his shows were classy as well.Lance was a well respected man who provided us with many many years of good quality entertainment in Toronto. His shows were known to start on time , were well managed and the artistes always showed up to perform. IF the ad said Show time at 8 and you showed up late, you missed that portion of the performances. You could still attend one of lance's shows, get some rest and go to work refreshed the following day. He put on some of the best shows in Toronto. He supported new artistes by having them open his shows. When the ad said L.I.P Entertainment, you were guaranteed to have fun. I remember shows with D Brown, Freddie Mcgregor,Maxi Priest, Peabo Bryson, Third World,Steel Pulse and many others. Eventually the 'regulars' became LIP family members and were rewarded with lots of little perks.
Lots of hours are spent reminiscing about concerts, shows, events that your dad organized, promoted or supported. and makes me think of a poem..
' A great soul serves everyone all the time.
A great soul never dies.
It brings us together again and again'

Your dad served us all. He will be missed but never forgotten.

Much love from a few members of the "L.I.P. family"

Actually, it is very sad for me to know that, this so called fantastic brother Lance man, as I used to called him, left us since 2009, and I am getting to know right now, due to break of contacts between us, any way, he left many good things writen on a golden book with all wonderful things, achievements this gentle man made in the history of entertainment.
I met him couple of years ago while I was in Toronto, and since then, it was as if we are always together. I love you so much, but God loves you more, may your souls rest in perfect peace. Ase. Greetings to his entire members of his family.
